Start of construction of the Luisenplatz play and leisure centre

This week, construction work began on the redesign of the Luisenplatz play and leisure centre. The initial work involves setting up the construction site and demolishing and dismantling the old play area.

A new play combination consisting of three hexagonal play towers, climbing net, climbing/sliding pole & hanging ladder, a double slackline, a double swing, a stainless steel carousel with twist function, a mini bird's nest swing, a spring rocker and a ball rocker including fall protection surface will then be built.

The new facility is scheduled for completion in July.

The playground is being built as part of the "2015 playground concept" adopted by the city council in May 2014. The costs total approx. 155,000 euros. A third of this is being funded by the "Urban Redevelopment East" programme.

The planning office Kretzschmar & Partner, Dresden, has been commissioned with the planning. The construction work is being carried out by Baumschule Hohenstein-Ernstthal GmbH.
