Start of construction of Altenhainer Dorfstraße bridge over Schwarzbach stream
Next Monday, 30 January 2017, work will begin on the replacement of the Altenhainer Dorfstraße bridge over the Schwarzbach. This is located at the junction of Altenhainer Dorfstraße and Ferdinandstraße.
The bridge structure was damaged by flooding to such an extent that its stability is impaired and a new construction is unavoidable. The existing bridge structure will be completely dismantled and rebuilt. The flow cross-section will be enlarged to the design flood of HQ 50.
In addition to the actual bridge construction, the neighbouring wing walls will be constructed, part of the embankment wall will be renewed and the road in the area of the bridge will be adapted. The drinking water and gas pipes will be relocated and renewed for the construction project.
The junction of Altenhainer Dorfstraße and Ferdinandstraße will be fully closed to traffic. A temporary bridge will be built to provide a pedestrian connection during the construction period. Traffic will be diverted via Zschopauer Straße and Ferdinandstraße. Bus services will remain in operation and a diversion route has been upgraded in advance of the project.
The planned completion date for the project is 31 August 2017.
The construction company Rüdiger Bau GmbH from Aue has been commissioned to carry out the work. The costs for the measure amount to around 350,000 euros and the project is being subsidised with funds from the federal government and the state of Saxony for the elimination of flood damage in 2013 with a subsidy rate of 100 percent of the eligible costs.
