Start of construction for the development of the Technology Campus South
Work to develop the new "Technology Campus South" industrial estate begins today.
The approx. 23-hectare technology and research-oriented industrial estate will have an access road around 550 metres long with the corresponding utilities. This includes the laying of drinking water, gas and district heating connections as well as medium-voltage and communication lines and a street lighting system by inetz GmbH. In addition, Entsorgungsbetrieb Chemnitz (ESC) is laying a combined sewer for drainage. Deutsche Telekom is also developing the area with communication lines.
The new so-called Planstraße C connects the traffic in the south-west to Fraunhoferstraße and in the north to Lise-Meitner-Straße.
The road is 9.50 metres wide and is dimensioned so that lorries can park at the edge of the road. The carriageway will be surfaced with bitumen, while the pavements will be paved with concrete block paving. The pavement will be 2.30 metres wide on one side. On the side of the road without a pavement, a 0.75 metre wide hard shoulder will be paved on the passenger side of parked vehicles for entering and exiting.
As this is a new construction, there will be no restrictions on the public traffic area.
The total costs amount to around 1.9 million euros. Construction is scheduled to end in October 2020 and the construction company Eiffage-Infra Ost from Drebach has been commissioned to carry out the work.
