Start of construction for redesign of pedestrianised boulevard in Markersdorf
Construction work on the extensive project to redesign the Markersdorf-Nord pedestrian boulevard will begin on Tuesday, 21 May 2013. The project, originally planned for November 2012, had to be postponed and re-tendered due to the insolvency of the contractor. The contract for "Mittendrin im Grünen" has now been awarded to Tiefbau Böhm from the Klaffenbach district of Chemnitz.
The contract is worth a total of 140,500 euros.
Following the start of work on Tuesday (21 May), it is planned to complete the construction work for the redesign by the end of September 2013 and the planting and lawn work by the end of October 2013. The maintenance work will be completed by the end of October 2014.
