Start of construction for civil engineering, hydraulic engineering and traffic engineering measures in 2017

At its meeting today, the city council decided to start the following construction work.

Parkstrasse in the section from Beckerstrasse to house no. 42
Parkstrasse is to be renewed over a length of 660 metres between Beckerstrasse and Haydnstrasse. This measure is divided into two sections. The first between Beckerstrasse and house no. 42 is approx. 440 metres long. The road is planned with a width of 5.50 metres. There are parking lanes on both sides with a width of two metres. The pavement on the opposite side of the Stadtpark will be paved. The pavement on the city park side will be constructed with a minimum width of 1.5 metres in asphalt and will be provided with protection for the root areas of the trees worthy of preservation. The costs amount to around 443,000 euros. Construction is scheduled to start in March/April 2018 and end in September. Diversions will be in place via Parkstraße and Stollberger Straße.

Bridge over the Gablenzbach
The existing bridge over the Gablenzbach is located in the course of Adelsbergstraße between Olbersdorfer Straße and Gablenzer Straße. The bridge is currently closed to vehicle traffic. A new replacement is therefore planned, as it is not possible or economical to repair it. The existing structure will be demolished. The new replacement structure will be a reinforced concrete slab construction. The costs, including the necessary road construction, amount to around 369,000 euros. Construction is scheduled to begin in April and end in December 2018.
