Stairs on Hohe Straße are opened
Construction work is expected to be completed by Friday
The stairs on Hohe Strasse will be accessible again on Friday 26 April, probably from 3 pm. The final work is currently underway to connect the lighting in the railings to the power supply.
The staircase, which connects Hohe Straße on Kaßberg and the extended footpath to Bierbrücke, was demolished and rebuilt last autumn. The new staircase was built in the same place. The steps were slightly widened as far as was possible without interfering with the existing old trees. The new staircase has modern lighting in the handrail.
The condition of the old staircase had deteriorated noticeably in recent years, so much so that it even had to be closed in winter for road safety reasons.
