Staircase at the municipal utility building at Augustusburger Straße 1 renewed

On Friday, the repair work on the staircase in front of the so-called Stadtwerkehaus, headquarters of the energy service provider "eins energie", will be completed.
The civil engineering department originally intended to renovate the stairs. However, their fundamental renewal became necessary after experts had uncovered and inspected the staircase substructure.

Firstly, the substructure was rebuilt. A sealing layer of liquid plastic was then applied and surface drainage installed to protect the underground car park beneath the stairs from seepage water.
The natural stone covering of the staircase was refurbished using old and new stone and a ramp was added to the staircase.

The construction project cost 180,000 euros and was carried out by the company Natursteinmontage Rolf Ziesche from Kamenz.
