Stadium renovation: City reports on the current status
Process proceeding according to plan - fans to be more involved
The reorganisation of the land has largely been completed: The contracts have been notarised and the transfer of ownership is scheduled for 1 May. The contractual relationship between the city and Chemnitzer FC will also be reorganised by 1 May.
The go-kart hall was already handed over in mid-February. In the meantime, the owner has reopened his new track at its new location in the Chemnitz-Röhrsdorf industrial estate.
To date, around one million euros have been spent on construction preparations. This sum is usual for such a construction volume. The negotiation process itself is proceeding according to plan. The first stage of the city's inspections has been completed. Following the negotiation talks, the award of the grant is expected in June. All detailed questions, for example about the architecture and specific size, can then be answered.
The fans will gradually be involved in the rebuilding process. It is planned to involve the fans in clearing out the halls. As a result, an auction (e.g. of seats in the main stand) is planned, the proceeds of which will benefit the stadium remodelling.
The remodelling of the stadium during match operations is a complex matter that requires special precautions during the construction phase, especially in the safety area. The CFC also wants to specifically involve the fans in this, e.g. in supporting the security service.
In addition, the fans will of course be actively involved in the expansion of the fan centre.
