St Nicholas abseils down to the children's hospital

On Tuesday, 6 December, at around 2 p.m., Father Christmas will abseil down from the roof of the Clinic for Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine, Flemmingstraße 4, to bring joy to the young patients. With this event, the professional fire brigade of the city of Chemnitz is taking part in a nationwide day of action organised by Germany's professional fire brigades.
On this day, special fire brigade units throughout Germany, which specialise in rescuing people from heights and depths, will be abseiling from children's hospital roofs dressed as Father Christmases and handing out small sweets to sweeten the little patients' day at the hospital.
The campaign has been coordinated with the management of Chemnitz Hospital.
