Spring planting in the city centre

The first heralds of spring are providing a splash of colour in the public green spaces and flowerbeds in the city centre, covering a total area of 488 square metres. Last autumn, the gardeners from the Parks Department planted around 4580 flower bulbs. This spring, another 8,100 pansies and 1,500 primroses have been added.
Bright pink tulips, white scented daffodils, chequerboard flowers, creamy yellow imperial crowns, Persian bell lilies and pale pink pansies bloom in the park by the Red Tower in spring. Primroses in three colours (pink/white, purple/white, creamy white) also adorn the castle square.
The cost of the spring planting, which has already been completed this week, amounts to around 3,000 euros.
The spring bloomers were again supplied by W. Willkomm GbR from Dresden.
