Spring planting has begun
Due to the favourable weather conditions, work has begun on spring planting in the city centre. The first heralds of spring are being planted in the beds over a total area of 488 square metres, adding a splash of colour to the public green spaces.
The planting at the Am Roten Turm park will once again be an eye-catcher in the city centre.
The ribbon of 3900 tulips already planted in autumn and winding its way across the bed will be complemented by 10,500 horned violets in five different colours.
On the castle square, the ornamental beds will provide a splash of colour with 1,500 pansies in yellow, orange and red.
The cost of the planting is around 4,000 euros. The garden centre Falk Horn from Geringswalde was commissioned to supply the spring bloomers.
