Spring can come

The green spaces of the city of Chemnitz are well prepared for the start of spring thanks to the care of the city's gardeners.

As early as autumn, 17,550 flower bulbs were planted, including daffodils, tulips and crocuses. Existing areas were refreshed. Some green areas with flower bulbs were newly added, such as Andréplatz on Kaßberg with 3,000 crocuses.

In the green spaces, shrubs have been pruned, leaves cleared and spring cleaning is also well advanced. The Schloßteichpark, the Park Am Roten Turm and Stadthallenpark, the Schloßbergpark and the green areas of the Schloßplatz are already in a well-tended condition.

As soon as the weather permits, preparations will be made for the spring planting of a total of 875 square metres.

The planting around the Red Tower is planned for the city anniversary in the colours blue (10,000 blue pansies) and yellow (5,500 yellow daffodils). On the castle square, 2,000 dark red tulips and 600 white primroses will bloom.

The cost of the spring bloomers is 2,873.16 euros.

The company W. Willkomm GbR from Dresden was commissioned to supply the spring bloomers.
