"Sporty Kidz" exercise programme continues from Sunday
Open sports Sunday for Chemnitz families in the Schloßchemnitz district
From Sunday, 14 November, the "Sporty Kidz" exercise programme will continue in the Schloßchemnitz district. This is part of the Open Sports Sunday project for Chemnitz families, which aims to bring exercise into everyday family life. Starting this week, it will take place every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the sports hall at Untere Luisenschule (Fritz-Matschke-
Straße 21). Access is via Kanalstraße.
Participation in this open, supervised sports programme for children, young people and their parents is free of charge. According to the currently valid Corona Protection Ordinance, participants aged 16 and over must provide proof of 2G. Contact details are also recorded.
The programme is funded by the Techniker Krankenkasse health insurance company and was initiated by the City of Chemnitz's health department via the "Healthy Chemnitz" working group. Following the successful launch last summer on Luisenplatz, the project is now being continued in the sports hall in collaboration with the Mitte-West community centre.
The programme is supported by the Chemnitz Children's Sports School, the Chemnitz City Sports Association and the Chair of Sports Medicine and Biology at Chemnitz University of Technology. "Especially in these times, it is important to find a physical balance. We hope that many children and young people will be encouraged to take up the exercise programmes," says Madlen Gelfert, expert in non-corporate settings at Techniker Krankenkasse.
