Sports Minister Armin Schuster and Lord Mayor Sven Schulze hand over funding to sports club
Invitation for journalists: 22 May, 3 p.m., Postsportverein e. V., Marktsteig 110
On Wednesday 22 May at 3 p.m., the Postsportverein e. V will receive a funding decision from the Free State of Saxony amounting to around 1.165 million euros. Sports Minister Armin Schuster will present the decision to the club in the presence of Lord Mayor Sven Schulze on the club premises at Marktsteig 110. The City of Chemnitz will contribute a further 932,000 euros in sports funding.
Representatives of the media are invited to the handover.
The funding will be used to build an artificial hockey pitch. The Free State of Saxony and the City of Chemnitz are thus supporting and honouring the successful hockey sport of Postsportverein e. V.
Postsportverein e. V. is acting as the client for this project, which will cost a total of 2.33 million euros. The multi-sports club has 408 members, including 151 children and young people. Eight sports are offered. With 175 members, the hockey department has the largest number of members and the best performance.
Once completed, the new large artificial turf hockey pitch will be usable all year round. It replaces the previous hard pitch in the Poststadion.
