"Speedy on tour - ever ridden a wheelchair properly?"
The city's health department and partners committed to supporting the campaign for MS sufferers invite you to join in on Wednesday (29 May) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Schönherrfarbik
Medical officer Dr Liebhard Monzer, head of the city's health department, will be on hand from 1.30 p.m. to talk to media representatives and explain the campaign, which is supported by many partners:
"Speedy on tour is a campaign organised by our Chemnitz health department together with committed partners and supporters in favour of disadvantaged people. On Wednesday at the Schönherrfabrik, pupils from the Annen and Rosa-Luxemburg primary schools will compete with pupils with speech and hearing impairments from the Georg-Götz-Schule boarding school for the hearing-impaired: They will be using folding wheelchairs and handbikes to draw attention to the fate of severely chronically ill people in a sporty way, while also raising funds. As every year, the donations collected on the occasion of World Multiple Sclerosis Day will be used to further support the Chemnitz therapy group Cognitive Training of the MS self-help group Offensiv and thus benefit a very important charitable cause or project."
Committed support in financial form as well as in the form of work, e.g. for the preparation and implementation of the campaign on Wednesday in the Schönherrfabrik, is provided by various institutions affected by MS in Chemnitz, including a pharmacy, a self-defence studio and a dental practice as well as private individuals.
