Speed dating with female candidates for the local elections
Invitation: 6 May, 5 pm, Lila Villa Women's Centre
On Monday, 6 May at 5 pm, interested parties are invited to the Lila Villa Women's Centre, Kaßbergstraße 22, for a speed dating event with several female candidates in the upcoming local elections. They can be asked about their specific proposals on topics such as women, family, the environment, building projects and their ideas on the municipal budget.
Representatives of the media are also invited.
The speed dating event offers the opportunity to get to know the candidates personally and to directly experience and compare their positions on various topics and ask questions. The event is organised by the State Women's Council of Saxony in cooperation with Pia Hamann, Equal Opportunities Officer of the City of Chemnitz.
At the same time, the association Frauen aufs Podium e. V. is offering an introductory session with Mayor Kathrin Gessel from the municipality of Steinigtwolmsdorf as part of the "Becoming a Mayor" mentoring programme. Friederike Fröhlich from the Frauen aufs Podium association: "Who wouldn't want that: a varied job that is fun and quite demanding: mayor! It's not for nothing that many in office see this job as a vocation and fulfil it with great personal commitment. The amount of time and work involved is very high. But you can make a difference, which has a positive impact on people's lives, and you have to deal with many different issues, people and concerns. If you want to discover the profession, you can get a taste of it now."
