From 10.00 on Saturday 29 August until 02.00 on Sunday 30 August, the Transport and Civil Engineering Department is imposing a 30 km/h speed limit on Hartmannstraße between Kaßbergstraße/Bergstraße and Theaterstraße. The aim is to ensure the safety of the KOSMOS event.
In addition, a speed limit of 10 km/h will be in force on Fabrikstraße and in the area around An der Markthalle to ensure the safety of set-up and dismantling work. This will apply from 8.00 am on Thursday 27 August until 6.00 pm on Monday 31 August.
To enforce the prescribed speed limit and ensure the safe flow of visitors around the event venues, the City of Chemnitz will be carrying out speed checks in this area.
To this end, the colourful enforcement trailer, decorated with children’s drawings, will be positioned on Hartmannstraße, in the direction of Theaterstraße, near Richard-Hartmann-Platz.
The trailer’s highly visible design is intended – in addition to monitoring speed – to draw attention to the importance of road safety and the protection of particularly vulnerable road users.
All road users are urged to observe the prescribed speed limits and to drive with particular care and consideration in the event area.
