Prevention in Chemnitz: on 8 June, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., DMK Open Space, Dresdner Straße 40 - registrations still possible until 5 June

On Thursday, 8 June, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the specialist conference "Finding orientation in times of crisis - ways out of escalating situations in the social environment" will take place. It is aimed at employees in organisations that support and care for young people. Registrations are still possible until 5 June at: https://mitdenken.sachsen.de/-U6VhjV5m.

Representatives of the media are also invited.

Conflicts arise in the city centre and other social spaces that have an impact on urban society and citizens' sense of security. Those involved in current conflicts are increasingly young people who find it difficult to fulfil expectations regarding the implementation of social norms and values.

This specialist event aims to address precisely this issue and provide guidance in times of crisis. The cooperation partners will provide input for social and educational work with at-risk groups. Practical examples will be used to show how skills can be strengthened in dealing with violence in social spaces.

The symposium is jointly organised by the Office of the Crime Prevention Council of the City of Chemnitz, the Centre for Criminological Research Saxony e. V. at Chemnitz University of Technology, Inpeos e. V. and Camino - Werkstatt für Fortbildung, Praxisbegleitung und Forschung im sozialen Bereich gGmbH. The speakers are: Sabine Behn (Camino Berlin), Prof. Frank Asbrock (ZKFS/TU Chemnitz), M.Sc. Jennifer Führer (ZKFS/TU Chemnitz), Daniela Fritsch (Inpeos e.V.) and Ines Vorsatz (StadtChemnitz, KPR office).
