Special exhibition "Young Workshop - My Museum of Dreams" extended until 1 November 2020
Free admission on 4 September and 2 October 2020
The special exhibition "Young Workshop - My Museum of Dreams" at the Museum of Natural History in the TIETZ will be extended until 1 November 2020. This means that interactive games, discovery stations and the animated films on the topic of Earth's history can still be tried out and evaluated. On 4 September and 2 October 2020, all visitors can enjoy free admission. Registration is not required.
Since the opening on 26 November 2019, over 10,000 visitors have visited the museum's special exhibition despite all the restrictions. An analysis of the postcodes revealed an above-average visitor response rate of 88 per cent across Saxony. The exhibition also appealed to the people of Chemnitz. Guests from all parts of the city were welcomed to the museum. The exhibition also attracted international visitors from China, Great Britain, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Mongolia and Hungary. This emphasises the museum's role as a cultural educational institution with a local to international focus. In addition, the extensive digital programme accompanying the exhibition offers curriculum-related content and games for extracurricular activities. The experience boxes put together individually for learning groups round off the cultural education work, taking into account the coronavirus restrictions.
The exhibition was co-financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget approved by the members of the Saxon state parliament.
