Spanish exchange interns visit Chemnitz town hall
Invitation to the photo session: 13 April, 10 a.m., in the foyer of the town hall
Eight Spanish guests from the region of Catalonia will be visiting Chemnitz City Hall on Friday, 13 April 2018, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. As part of the Catalan ESF project "Next Step - Europe!", they are completing a three-month internship in companies and organisations in Chemnitz.
EU Coordinator Pia Sachs welcomes the guests and informs them about the EU work of the City of Chemnitz. The subsequent tour of the town hall is filled with further information about Chemnitz and its history.
In May 2018, a group of young people from the Chemnitz region will be travelling to Tàrrega in Spain on an exchange to gain new personal and professional experience. They are taking part in the German ESF project "Young Mobility", in the course of which around 85 young people are completing an internship in Austria, Sweden or Spain.
The aim of the work-related stays abroad is to reduce unemployment among young people in Europe and facilitate access to the labour market. The personal experience gained abroad improves the participants' career prospects on their return. The exchange activities are organised jointly by the Catalan organisation Associació ALBA and solaris Förderzentrum für Jugend & Umwelt gGmbH Sachsen.
