Soil atlas - facts and figures about fields, land and soil
Event at the TIETZ from the Agenda Forums series
To mark the International Year of Soil, the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre invites all citizens interested in the topic to an event in the event hall of the Adult Education Centre in the TIETZ on Thursday, 17 September 2015 .
From 7 to 9.30 p.m., facts and figures will be presented on the importance and condition of land, soil and arable land in Germany, Europe and worldwide.
Why is land becoming more and more expensive? How much soil is lost every year? How many square kilometres of arable and pasture land do we "import" for our food? Who owns the land? The Soil Atlas 2015 provides answers to these questions. In numerous graphics and text contributions, the Soil Atlas provides an up-to-date insight into the condition of and threats to the soil on which we live.

The annual Agenda Forums discuss the topics of sustainability and ecology and develop local approaches for action.
A co-operation of the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre with the Agenda 21 Office, the Protestant Forum and the Department for Ecology and Sustainability of the Chemnitz University of Technology Student Council (NATUC).
The event is free of charge.
