The Supervisory Board of the municipal subsidiary Chemnitzer Wirtschaftsförderungs- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH has decided on the appointment of a new Managing Director. As the current Managing Director of the company, Ulrich Geissler, is leaving the company after his contract expires on 31 October 2015, the position will be filled by a new person. Yesterday evening, the Supervisory Board and the shareholders' meeting unanimously decided to appoint Sören Uhle, who was born in our city, as Managing Director of CWE.

"I am delighted that we have been able to recruit a proven expert for the position who has close ties to the region and is returning to his home town for this responsible role," said Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig, who is also Chairwoman of the CWE Supervisory Board. "Mr Uhle knows the companies and entrepreneurs in the city, has experience as a managing director himself and will passionately promote both business development and city marketing."

After studying business administration with a specialisation in marketing at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences, Sören Uhle worked as a business promoter for the district of Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein and moved from there to CWE in 2007, where he was responsible for location marketing until 2011. One of Sören Uhle's key projects during this time was the conception and implementation of the skilled labour campaign "Chemnitz attracts", which is still successfully bringing Chemnitz companies and skilled workers together today as a platform with job vacancies.

After working as a project manager at a communications agency in Chemnitz, Sören Uhle was appointed Managing Director of Bornaer Wohnbau- und Siedlungsgesellschaft mbH, the municipal housing company of the city of Borna, in 2012, a position he still holds today.

Sören Uhle, born in 1975, is married and has a daughter.
