Social welfare office provides information on services for senior citizens
Information letter 75 plus will be sent out from next week
From Thursday, 30 November, all Chemnitz citizens who are 75 years or older on the cut-off date (27 November) will receive an information letter from the City of Chemnitz Social Welfare Office about the services provided by the City of Chemnitz Senior Citizens' Social Service. The 75 plus information letter is sent out annually by the City of Chemnitz Social Welfare Office on a specific date.
Most people want to live at home for as long as possible into old age. Professional social workers offer senior citizens and their relatives free and impartial assistance to ensure that this is still possible when support is required within their own four walls.
The Senior Citizens' Social Service provides advice on all topics relating to old age by telephone on 488 5555, and personal counselling can be arranged by appointment at Moritzhof, Bahnhofstraße 53, or at the senior citizen's home if required.
From A for "everyday help" to Z for "living at home", information is available on services as well as support with applications and organising service providers.
It is expressly pointed out that the employees identify themselves with a service card and never appear unannounced for home visits.
Anyone who would like an information letter and is under 75 years of age can request one by calling the Senior Citizens' Social Service on 488 5555 or by sending an email to: senioren.behindertenhilfe(at)stadt-chemnitz.de.
