Snow load on forest trees harbours dangers when walking in the forest

Due to the current weather conditions, the city's Lower Forestry Authority is asking citizens to take care when walking in the forest: The wet snow that has been clinging to the crowns and side branches of the forest trees since yesterday's wintry conditions can also lead to large branches suddenly breaking off due to the additional load.

The forestry authority draws attention to the increased risk when visiting the forest under the current natural conditions in the forest and recommends refraining from visiting the forest. Entering the forest is always at your own risk.

Stone path closed

Road users please also note that the Steinweg (Zeisigwald) had to be closed: There are full closure discs at the access road from Dresdner Straße, from Bayernring and in front of the Zeisigwaldschänke, so that currently only the forest road to the Zeisigwaldschänke can be used and then you have to drive back to the city on the same route.

It is not yet possible to say how long the closure will last.
