Snow fences are erected
With a view to the winter season, the so-called snow fences are currently being erected in the area for which the City of Chemnitz is responsible - as a precautionary measure, initially at locations such as in the Euba and Adelsberg area (on Spürweg), which can be particularly affected by drifting snow in the event of heavy snowfall.
A total of approx. nine kilometres of snow fences will be erected on road sections in the Chemnitz districts of Wittgensdorf, Kleinolbersdorf-Altenhain, Klaffenbach, Röhrsdorf, Euba and Einsiedel and in the Adelsberg and Stelzendorf areas, among others.also on the right-hand side of Südring in the area between Adelsbergstraße and Augustusburger Straße and on the left-hand side of Jägerschlösschenstraße in the area after Richterweg.
The installation of snow fences in areas affected by drifting snow will also ensure that the flow of traffic for local residents is not impaired.
The city's civil engineering department is responsible for erecting the snow fences. This year, the waste disposal and city cleaning company of the city of Chemnitz (ASR) was commissioned with the realisation.
