Smart Urban Services: Presentation of the MobiApp Chemnitz

Invitation to the press event on 9 January at 2 p.m. and the public event at 4.30 p.m.

Next Tuesday, 9 January 2018, the city of Chemnitz will present the newly developed mobility app. After 28 Bluetooth sensors for collecting movement data in Chemnitz city centre and two environmental sensors were installed and put into operation in summer 2017, the launch of the mobility app marks the second component of the research project "Smart Urban Services: Data-based service platform for the urban value creation of tomorrow". The research project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and will run until the end of 2018.

Representatives of the media are invited to the presentation at 2 p.m. in Chemnitz City Hall, room 118. Afterwards, short tours of Chemnitz city centre will be offered together with the project participants. There will be an opportunity to try out the app and talk to the members of the research network.

The following members of the research network of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the City of Chemnitz will be available for the press event:

Invitation to the public event

Also on Tuesday, 9 January, at 4.30 pm, a public information and participation event will take place in the creative café "All In" of the citizens' initiative Chemnitz City e.V. (Rosenhof 14). After a short presentation of the application, interested parties will have the opportunity to test the app together with experts on various routes through Chemnitz city centre. The previously collected feedback from the tours will then be displayed in real time on the service platform. Representatives from various offices of Chemnitz city council and experts from the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft will take part in the event. There will be an opportunity to discuss the app directly with those present.
