Smart and climate-friendly - adult education centre offers live stream on the topic of sustainability
On 14 March, there will be the opportunity to watch live presentations from adult education centres in Berlin and Bayreuth on the topic of "Phasing out coal instead of the climate crisis: It's 1.5 to 12!" and on 27 March on the topic of "Plastic in the sea - how do we stop the flood of plastic?". The broadcasts will take place from 7 to 9.15 pm at the adult education centre. Admission is free. The event room will be course room 4.07 in the TIETZ The Adult Education Centre is thus participating in a project of the German Adult Education Association by broadcasting two high-calibre lecture events online via live stream.
On 14 March, Michael Schäfer, Head of Climate Protection and Energy Policy at WWF Germany, and Dr Klaus Grosfeld, Managing Director of REKLIM - Helmholtz Association for Regional Climate Change, will address these questions: How should the current climate development be assessed? What steps are urgently needed to limit the global temperature increase to well below 2 °C and to achieve global climate targets?
On 27 March, the speakers Dr Bernhard Bauske, biologist and WWF Germany speaker on the topic of plastic waste in the oceans, and Prof. Christian Laforsch from the Department of Animal Ecology at the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Earth Sciences at the University of Bayreuth will be speaking on the topic of plastic waste in the sea, which ultimately enters the human food chain via fish through small plastic particles, so-called microplastics, and other environmentally harmful substances. The question is: How does all this rubbish get into the sea? What solutions are there?
