Slovenian ambassador and delegations from Nova Gorica and Gorizia visit Chemnitz

On Monday, 11 July at 12 noon, the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Germany, Franc But, as well as the Mayor of the City of Nova Gorica (Slovenia), Klemen Miklavic, and the Mayor of the City of Gorizia (Italy), Rodolfo Ziberna, will sign the Golden Book of the City of Chemnitz.

Representatives of the media are cordially invited to the lobby of the town hall.

From 9 to 11 July, delegations from Nova Gorica (Slovenia) and Gorizia (Italy) will visit Chemnitz to find out about the city's preparations as European Capital of Culture 2025 and to develop joint ideas and projects on the way there. The delegations will be led by the mayors of the cities.

Together with Chemnitz, Nova Gorica and Gorizia successfully applied for the title of European Capital of Culture for 2025. The delegations' programme includes talks with Lord Mayor Sven Schulze and Stefan Schmidtke, Managing Director of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 GmbH, as well as a visit to the Makers United Festival at the weekend and to cultural stakeholders in the region, including in Thalheim, Zwönitz and Schneeberg.
