Six diseased trees have to be felled
Two common ash trees on Limbacher Straße in front of property no. 241 and four birch trees on Jagdschänkenstraße near the motorway bridge need to be felled. The trees - according to the results of continuous tree inspections in the city area by the Parks Department - are diseased or have already died (see appendix for details).
The felling will be carried out in the second quarter in addition to the tree maintenance work already published (PM 110 dated 3 March 2014). Without exception, all of the upcoming work is urgent work to maintain or establish road safety.
All tree maintenance measures within the meaning of the duty to maintain road safety are legally permissible and do not constitute an offence under §39 BNatSchG or §25 SächsNatSchg.
Wherever space permits, the Parks Department will arrange for replanting.
