Significant additional expenditure required due to wage agreement
The wage agreement for the public sector means significant additional expenditure for the City of Chemnitz for 2023 and 2024, which is not provided for in the adopted budget.
For this year, Treasurer Ralph Burghart expects around €9 million in additional expenditure, of which around €3 million is not planned. Next year, the wage agreement will mean additional expenditure of around 23.4 million euros for the city, of which 18 million euros are not covered.
The treasurer therefore wrote to the parliamentary groups today and explained the figures to them. At the same time, he asked them to work with the administration in the coming months to find ways to close these financial gaps.
