Siegmar volunteer fire brigade celebrates 130th anniversary
The Siegmar volunteer fire brigade is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year.
In 1883, the "fire engine association" with Neustadt is dissolved and each municipality now has its own fire engine. The Siegmar compulsory fire brigade collected it from the Lippold company in Chemnitz. You can find out more about the interesting history of the Siegmar volunteer fire brigade and spectacular operations as well as fire brigade equipment worth seeing in an exhibition from 1 to 5 May in the "Haus des Gastes" Reichenbrand, Zwickauer Straße 485, which is open from 10.30 am.
There will also be an opportunity to watch the traditional Reichenbrand maypole raising at 2.30 pm.
On Sunday, 5 May, the Siegmar volunteer fire brigade will take part in the parade of the Reichenbrand local history association on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of Reichenbrand from 1 pm. The parade starts at the corner of Zwickauer Straße and Nevoigtstraße and ends at Mitschurinstraße.
