"Shared happiness": a musical Christmas story

The Municipal Music School invites you to the traditional Christmas concert entitled "Shared Happiness" on 3 December 2016 at 4 pm in the Small Hall of Chemnitz City Hall. Tickets are available from the Stadthalle ticket shop at a price of 12 euros, concessions 8 euros (children up to 12 years).
A Christmas story will be performed by children, accompanied by music from 14 different ensembles and 7 soloists from the music school. The story is about sharing. Music teacher Ulrike Gruner-Zaunick holds the strings of the programme in her hands from the idea to the performance and involves all sections - from the youngest to the most talented, who have already made a name for themselves in the "Jugend musiziert" competition.
The main character is Mr Willobie's magnificent Christmas tree, which simply does not fit into his villa. So the top has to come off piece by piece. So not only servant Baxter and gardener Tim, but also bear, fox, rabbit and mouse get a Christmas tree.
Performers include the "Flitzebögen" ensemble, children from the early music education programme and children's ballet, members of the music school choir, the accordion ensemble, a string quartet and the "StreichHölzer" ensemble, the music school band, a trio from the plucked string orchestra, an oboe and flute trio as well as a clarinet quartet and members of the youth symphony orchestra. The soloists will be: Daniel Scherzer (piano), Leonore Lungwitz (harp) Anna-Lene Kreher and Jennifer Risch (accordion duo) as well as Michelle Lehmann and Fabian Hennig (piano duo). Daniel Scherzer is a prizewinner at the "Jugend musiziert" state competition
The 35 contributions strike both contemplative and rhythmic notes. The two-hour programme includes classics such as "Petersburger Schlittenfahrt" by Richard Eilenberg. The piano duo Michelle Lehmann and Fabian Hennig will perform this fast-paced ride. Soloist Leonore Lungwitz, on the other hand, will play soft sounds on the harp with the title "Accordeon". Three musicians from the plucked string orchestra will also perform the piece "Dormi, non piangere".
The members of the choirs, orchestras, bands and ensembles use the Christmas concert as the highlight of the music school year to make music together. And, of course, they also want to show off their musical skills and progress to a larger audience.
