Sewers and road surface in Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße are being renewed
From 4 March to 2 May, extensive construction work to renew the sewerage system and road surface will be carried out on behalf of the City of Chemnitz waste disposal company and the city's civil engineering department. The construction work will affect the area of Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße 197 to 212.
This means that sections of Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße will have to be fully closed to traffic during this period. A diversion will be signposted. Pedestrian traffic will be guided safely past the construction site at all times.
In the aforementioned section, the wastewater sewers are being renewed separately for wastewater and rainwater, including the connecting sewers to the individual properties, on behalf of the City of Chemnitz waste disposal company. In the same section, the road surface is being renewed on behalf of the City of Chemnitz Civil Engineering Department.
The construction work began in summer 2013 and will now continue after a scheduled winter break. The total gross construction costs for the Klaffenbacher Hauptstraße 5th construction phase amount to 520,000 euros. Of this, the ESC is paying 440,000 euros for the drainage and the civil engineering department 80,000 euros for the road construction.
Faber Bau GmbH from Drebach im Erzgebirge has been commissioned to carry out the construction work.
