Seven Chemnitz residents are honoured for their civic engagement

Reception for citizens of the Free State of Saxony at the Saxon State Parliament on Saturday

On Saturday, 1 December 2012, a total of 50 honorary citizens of the Free State of Saxony will be honoured at a reception in the Saxon State Parliament in Dresden. Seven citizens from Chemnitz have been invited to take part in the festive event: Sabine Ramm, Katja Kühnrich, Prof Roland Bilz, Gisela Grabowsky, Christa Ziegner, Bärbel Müller and Mario Lippold.

The festive event begins at 11 a.m. with speeches by the President of the State Parliament, Matthias Rößler, and Minister of State Christine Claus. The citizens will then be honoured: they will receive the Saxon Volunteer Card, together with a certificate and a bouquet of flowers.
The event will conclude with a reception.
