Self-determined into old age with ageing technologies
City Library: Lecture on 19 October, 6.30 pm at TIETZ
On Tuesday, 19 October at 6.30 pm, Dr Mario Geißler from Q-HUB Chemnitz will present a preview of his AgeTech conference taking place in November and provide new insights into the world and Chemnitz of tomorrow.
On this evening, he will present his vision of an innovative Chemnitz as a pioneering region for ageing technologies. He is also looking for a test group that can comprehensively test these products before they are launched on the market.

Many see age and the ageing of our society as a weakness. But there are courageous entrepreneurs and visionaries who see ageing as an opportunity. They develop new products and services that simplify our lives and help us to live with joy and self-determination into old age. One of these creative minds is Dr Mario Geißler, Managing Director and co-founder of Chemnitz-based Q-HUB. He and his team want to utilise the high average age of Chemnitz's population to attract forward thinkers and innovative minds to Chemnitz.
The promise: In Chemnitz, new ideas for an ageing society can be developed and improved with the Chemnitz population. They want to make Chemnitz a pilot and test region for innovations in the field of ageing technologies.
They are less interested in care aids and more in completely new concepts that help people to stay fit for longer or live healthier lives even in midlife.
Dr Geißler uses national and international examples to show what creative minds are coming up with in order to be able to live age-free in the future. There are already innovative companies pursuing this positive approach today. One of them is RetroBrain GmbH from Hamburg. It combines prevention and playful enjoyment in video games. As a leisure activity or form of therapy, the games are fun and improve cognitive performance, motor skills and fitness.
