Security point opens

Invitation for journalists: on 18 June, 10 a.m., at the central bus stop

On Tuesday, 18 June at 10 a.m., representatives of the media are invited to the new security point at the central bus stop (in the former McDonalds). Lord Mayor Sven Schulze and Police Commissioner Carsten Kaempf will open the new security point. Also present will be representatives of the city's public order service, the Chemnitz police department and the owner of the property, the Krieger Group.

The security point serves citizens as a contact point for all security-related issues and is operated jointly by the city's public order service and the police. The aim is to intervene as quickly as possible in security-related situations in the city centre.

The security point will be open regularly for the first time on this day. The opening hours are: Monday to Friday from 3 pm to 10 pm and from April to October additionally on Saturdays from 3 pm to 10 pm. During major events in the city centre, staff will be on site for longer if necessary.
