On Saturday, 19 November, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., interested third and fourth grade students and their families are invited to the 12th Chemnitz Education Fair at Messe Chemnitz, Hall 2. Numerous secondary schools and grammar schools in the city will be represented with their own stands and will be presenting their concepts.

Admission and parking are free of charge. The aim of the education fair is to provide an overview of secondary schools in the city of Chemnitz.

Secondary school or grammar school, state or private? The education fair aims to help find answers. In addition to representatives from municipal secondary schools and grammar schools in the city of Chemnitz as well as representatives from independent schools, the Chemnitz Education Authority and the Chemnitz State Office for Schools and Education will also be present. There will also be a joint stand of the municipal vocational school centres.

At the exhibition stands, the schools will present their special features, their educational programmes such as working groups and all-day activities, as well as their options for individual support in the event of learning difficulties or the promotion of gifted students. They will provide information about which school offers which foreign language and it will be possible to make initial contact with teachers and pupils at the schools. At the joint stand of the vocational school centres, information will be provided on the options available after leaving secondary school: the Abitur is also possible. Representatives from the education authority will provide information on school transport and pro-rata reimbursement options. The State Office for Schools and Education will provide information on school careers, educational pathways and qualifications in general.
