Second location for the "Open Sports Sunday"

Opening on 19 March, from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m., sports hall of the Annenschule, Brauhausstraße 16

On Sunday, 19 March, from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m., the Office for Health and Prevention, the City Sports Association and Techniker Krankenkasse invite you to the opening of the second location of the "Open Sports Sunday for Families" project.

Families from Chemnitz are cordially invited to get to know the programme and try it out right away. The exercise programme is aimed at children, young people and their parents. Participation is free of charge and possible without pre-registration.

In addition to the exercise programme in the sports hall, there will also be a small supporting programme on this day. This includes a nutrition activity stand and tasty, healthy smoothies with the smoothie bike.

The "Open Sports Sunday for Families" already takes place regularly every Sunday from 10 am to 12 noon in the sports hall at Untere Luisenschule, Fritz-Matschke-Straße 21, and will now also be offered on Sundays from 9.30 am to 11.30 am in the sports hall at Annenschule, Brauhausstraße 16.

The project, initiated by the Office for Health and Prevention of the City of Chemnitz and the Healthy Chemnitz Working Group and sponsored by Techniker Krankenkasse, has been regularly used by numerous families in the sports hall of the Luisenschule since spring 2022.

Alexander Krauß, Head of the Saxony regional office of Techniker Krankenkasse: "Sport keeps you healthy - young and old! Unfortunately, many children who are not currently in a sports club get little exercise in their everyday lives. That's why we are supporting this prevention programme with 215,000 euros. It's also perfect for families to do something together at the weekend, do something for their well-being and have fun at the same time."
