Second dream concert

Launched two years ago and jointly organised by musicians with and without disabilities with the support of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dream Concert is now being held for the second time: the Chemnitz Municipal Music School and the City of Chemnitz's Disability Officer, Petra Liebetrau, are inviting people to attend on Monday, 25 November 2013 at 7:30 pm in the Small Hall of the Stadthalle. Disability commissioner Petra Liebetrau: "After the premiere in November two years ago, the organisers and participants received so many great reactions that we planned a continuation of the Dream Concert - and now the time has come: we have once again succeeded in preparing an evening of music at a high level and we hope that the Chemnitz audience will accept our concert offer and cordially invite you to attend the second edition of the Dream Concert."
The Free State of Saxony is supporting the preparation and realisation of the second Dream Concert with funding of around 7,500 euros. Financial support for the project is also being provided by the utility company eins energie in Sachsen and Sparkasse Chemnitz, the Chemnitz-based master acoustics company Hörgeräte Dr Eismann and the Schellhorn Foundation.
Invitation for journalists and photographers in advance: Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend the third joint rehearsal of all those involved in the dream concert and are also welcome to take photographs. The date is Friday, 15 November, 3 to 5 p.m., in the training room of the ASB nursing home for the elderly at Herderstraße 6 (railway line 4, stop "Goetheplatz").
The first Dream Concert took place in November 2011 under the motto "You don't have to be able to read lyrics, see or touch sheet music, instruments or hear rhythm to make dreamlike music" in the small hall of the Chemnitz Stadthalle. The performers in dream concert number two on 25 November 2013 include musicians from the Robert November 2013 include musicians from the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra, the integrative band "Motus", the choir "Kaleidoskop" with visually impaired and blind singers, the sign language choir "Monael & Friends", the pupils of the "Rock-AG" and the "ORFFeus" choir with learning difficulties, the cello children from the school for the blind as well as a keyboard player and two wheelchair dancers from the ASB residential centre. The concert will once again be presented by the 2nd Vice President of the Saxon State Parliament, Horst Wehner, together with General Music Director Frank Beermann.
Music school director Nancy Gibson: "We would also like to make it a tradition to invite a special guest to perform at the Dream Concert: The organisers have taken up the idea from 2011 and have once again engaged a young, well-known artist for our dream concert. This year it's Lisa Wohlgemuth, the young singer from the Erzgebirge who made it to the final of DSDS 2013."
Tickets for the Traumkonzert: Tickets for the Traumkonzert on 25 November are available from C-3 Stadthalle, Ticket Service and Ticket-Service am Markt. Admission costs 14 euros per person, concessions 8 euros (for pupils, students and severely disabled persons).
