Second Chemnitz energy dialogue promotes exchange

The second Chemnitz Energy Dialogue took place today in the Chamber Hall of the Chemnitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). The event is a co-operation between the Environmental Agency and the Business Division of the City of Chemnitz, the Chemnitz Chamber of Crafts (HWK), the Chemnitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Versorger eins. It is aimed at companies from the Chemnitz region and serves as a forum for dialogue.
The second energy dialogue was entitled "In-house power supply in companies and options for action to reduce energy consumption". Among other things, the Managing Director of eins, Roland Warner, presented the energy supplier's coal phase-out. "Avoiding 85 to 90 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions by 2045 is realistic in Chemnitz. The last 10 to 15 per cent are associated with exponentially rising costs," says Roland Warner.
"The energy transition poses enormous challenges for the city of Chemnitz and regional companies. The energy dialogue is intended to help find technical solutions and strengthen regional value creation. Entrepreneurs can obtain information and exchange ideas free of charge. The aim is to develop an innovation cluster in Chemnitz," said Carina Kühnel, Head of the City of Chemnitz's Environment Department.
The programme included presentations by various speakers on topics such as GHG emissions, passive air preheaters, heat recovery, biocarbon, structured energy data collection, current market and price developments in CO2 pricing, sustainability in SMEs, legal innovations and funding for energy and climate.
The second energy dialogue was fully booked. A continuation of the format is planned.
