Seasonal expedition summer: art - nature - landscape
Hike with the Chemnitz Artists' Association on 24 August, from 9 am to 2 pm Start: Haus der Kammbegegnungen, In der Gasse 3, Marienberg, OT Rübenau
The Chemnitz Environmental Centre and the Chemnitzer Künstlerbund e.V. invite you to a hike to Rübenau on Saturday, 24 August, led by biologist Kay Meister from the Förderverein Natura Miriquidica e.V.. The start is 9 am at the Haus der Kammbegegnungen, In der Gasse 3, Marienberg, OT Rübenau.
This year's 7 km exploratory tour will take you through the beautiful Töltzschbach valley around the former settlement of Gabrielehütten. The focus will be on the relationship between plants and stones and the role played by mining in the Ore Mountains.
Participation is free of charge; sturdy walking shoes are required. A herbal meal (cost 10 euros) will be offered afterwards. A convivial evening awaits hikers who wish to arrive on Friday, 23 August. Overnight accommodation is available in the Haus der Kammbegegnungen of the Natura Miriquidica support organisation. Background
The kunst-natur-landschaft series has taken place for many years with the Chemnitz Artists' Association, the Environmental Centre and the Tannenberg artist and conservationist Carl-Heinz Westenburger. Since 2017, the Chemnitz Environmental Centre has continued the traditional hike into the Ore Mountains with the Chemnitz Artists' Association in Rübenau, the largest scattered settlement in eastern Germany with its unique natural features.
