School project "Mach dir 'nen Kopp"

Invitation to the photo session on 15 October, 10.30 a.m. and/or 1 p.m.

150 pupils took part in the "Mach dir 'nen Kopp" project this week. At the invitation of the City of Chemnitz, they visited the "DENKmal Karl Marx" exhibition, learnt new things about the city on guided tours and got creative with artists.

On Friday, 15 October 2021, the last group to visit the project will be the history class from Dr. Wilhelm André Gymnasium.

Representatives of the media are cordially invited to a photo opportunity:
either 10.30 a.m. at a contemporary witness talk and/or 1 p.m. at the graffiti course with the Rebel Art Gallery. (Photo permission has been granted by the pupils).

The exhibition "DENKmal Karl Marx - propagated, spurned, marketed - a monument to the city's history" describes the preparation and inauguration of the Karl Marx Monument and invites visitors to think about the significance of the monument into the present and future.
It is open until 19 October 2021 in the rooms of the Open Space (Brückenstraße 10), on weekdays from 2 to 6 pm and at weekends from 10 am to 6 pm.

Artists who took part in the school project "Mach dir 'nen Kopp" were Comic artist Veronika Seidel, screen printer Peggy Albrecht, painter Lydia Thomas, Denis Kendzia from Karlskunsthaus and graffiti artists from Rebel Art Galerie.
