School meets culture
"Marketplace" aims to connect schools and cultural organisations - registrations are now being accepted
For the first time, the city of Chemnitz invites you to the "Marketplace Culture & School".
This will take place on 3 November 2015 from 3 to 5 pm at Kraftwerk e. V. at Kaßbergstraße 36, 09112 Chemnitz. Chemnitz educators, artists and representatives of cultural institutions will be invited to come together and discuss opportunities for future collaboration. In the format of an "open space", all participants are invited to actively help shape the marketplace and contribute projects, plans and ideas. The aim of the marketplace is to initiate new collaborations and cultural education projects and in this way to better network schools and cultural organisations within the city.
All market participants have 90 minutes to get to know each other and develop ideas together that will later be put into practice. Prepared forms, so-called "declarations of intent", which are notarised by "cultural notaries", are available as support. This is because the short descriptions of ideas can subsequently be written down in more detail and submitted for a sponsorship award. A prize of 500 euros will be awarded for the most convincing project submitted, which is intended as start-up funding for the project idea. The event will be moderated by Michael P. Milow.
The "Marketplace Culture & School" was developed by the educational initiative Kinder zum Olymp! of the Kulturstiftung der Länder and has already been successfully implemented in several cities. The project is therefore being organised in close cooperation with the education initiative. Other co-operation partners are Kraftwerk e. V. and the Chemnitz regional office of the Saxon Education Agency.
Registration for participation in the "Marketplace Culture & School" is possible until 27 October 2015.
