School competition "New Bauhaus in the Chemnitz cultural region"
Award ceremony on 9 September, 2.15 pm, at the Carlowitz-Congresscenter Chemnitz, room Terra
On 9 September at 2.15 pm, Saxony's Minister for European Affairs Katja Meier and Mayor Michael Stötzer will award the prizes to the winners of the "New Bauhaus in the Chemnitz Cultural Region" school competition at the Carlowitz Congress Centre Chemnitz, Terra room.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited. (Please note: The current hygiene and distancing regulations of the Free State of Saxony apply).
Three prizes will be awarded in each of the categories "Drawing, Painting, Graphics", "Modelling Utopias of a City" and "Modelling Concrete Ideas for Life".
The prizes are endowed with prize money of 100, 200 and 300 euros.
From May to June, the Saxon State Ministry of Justice and for Democracy, Europe and Equality and the City of Chemnitz, with the support of the Chemnitz State Office for Schools and Education, organised a competition for young people between the ages of 14 and 18 who live in the Chemnitz cultural region. The competition was looking for ideas on how to harmonise ecological, economic and cultural aspects with sustainability and accessibility.
The competition is part of the European Commission's creative interdisciplinary initiative "New European Bauhaus". The Commission is calling on all Europeans to engage in dialogue to develop and realise shared ideas for a sustainable, inclusive, intellectually and emotionally appealing future.
