School clubs are funded by the school authority
At its meeting today, Chemnitz City Council decided to transfer the funding of school clubs as all-day school programmes to the education authority.
Previously, the city's support for school clubs was provided by the Office for Youth and Family Affairs as support for school-related youth work in the city of Chemnitz.
In order to fulfil the mission statement of an efficient, citizen-oriented and service-oriented city, the transfer of tasks is to be standardised and merged.
At the same time, this will streamline administrative processes if, in future, the municipal funding of school clubs is carried out by the education authority as a general all-day programme for schools.
