School class from the twin town of Tampere visits

Invitation to the photo session: Mayor Miko Runkel receives the pupils from the Finnish twin town on 29 November, 1 p.m., in the city council chamber

On Tuesday, 29 November 2016 at 1 pm, Mayor Miko Runkel will welcome a school class from the twin city of Tampere to the City Council Chamber of Chemnitz City Hall. Media representatives are cordially invited to attend.

The 17 pupils and two teachers come from Juhannuskylän koulu Tampere, Finland. They will be accompanied by 16 pupils and a teacher from Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff-Gymnasium, Chemnitz.

The student exchange between the Juhannuskylän koulu Tampere and the Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff-Gymnasium has been organised for 16 years. It has therefore become a tradition for pupils in years eight and nine to visit each other.

As a welcome, the visitors receive a small gift and a tour of the town hall with a climb up the tower. They are then taken on a short tour of the Chemnitz Christmas market.
