Monday, 8 December
Invitation to the press conference with the mayor and mayors prior to the December City Council meeting (PM 698 of 04 December 2014).

Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the meeting of the Board of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the subsequent general meeting.

Time and place: 11.30 a.m., Berlin.

The choir of the Usti nad Labem grammar school, Chemnitz's Czech twin town, gives a concert at the Chemnitz Christmas market.

Time and place: 1 p.m., Neumarkt stage.

Tuesday, 9 December

The City of Chemnitz, the Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA) and the Chemnitz Employment Agency are launching an innovative offer for career guidance and life planning for pupils in year 8 at secondary schools with an adventure trail.

The project "Come on tour - my strengths, my future" is being organised under the patronage of Mayor Philipp Rochold and Angelika Hugel, Chairwoman of the Management Board of the Chemnitz Employment Agency.

Announcement of this year's winner of the Chemnitz Theatre Prize for Young Drama. The winning play will be premiered at Chemnitz Theatre in March 2015. A second and third place will also be awarded; these two plays will be presented as staged readings in the NACHTSCHICHT series.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig accepts the invitation to the opening reception of imk automotive GmbH at the new company headquarters. Founded in Chemnitz in 2002, the company specialises in cross-industry consulting and engineering services.

Friday, 12 December

The major construction project for the four-lane expansion of Zschopauer Straße (B 174) in the urban area between Südring and Bergfrieden is completed ahead of schedule. The road will be opened to traffic in the presence of Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig.

Sunday, 14 December

Christmas exhibition at the Schloßbergmuseum: 120 Advent calendars from a hundred years can be admired here until 1 February 2015. The Advent calendars come from the Katharina Metz collection. The collection comprises around 400 calendars, the oldest of which dates back to 1908.
