Schedule for the week from 8 to 14 July 2013

Monday, 8 July
Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig and Civil Engineering Office Manager Bernd Gregorzyk jointly inform on site about the partial opening of the Dresdner Platz bridge to traffic (PM 430 from 3 July 2013). The major construction project, in which around 24.8 million euros are being invested, is scheduled for final completion at the end of 2013.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the association meeting of the Sparkassenzweckverband.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig congratulates the town of Frankenberg on its 825th anniversary.

Time and place: 6 pm, Stadtpark, Frankenberg.

With "The Secrets of the Cloud Woman" by the Rollimaskentheater, the audience can expect an unusual performance in the Schauspielhaus, as the protagonists include eleven severely physically disabled wheelchair users from the neighbouring ASB residential centre. This special theatre project is directed by Pier Giorgio Furlan and Mica Kempe. Information: www.theater-chemnitz.de

Thursday, 11 July
Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the general meeting of the Friends of the House of Archaeology.

Friday, 12 July

From 12 to 15 July, the Saxon Mozart Society once again invites you to the "Sommerwerkstatt. Come!" on the theatre square. Concerts will take place on 16 July in Chomutov in the Czech Republic, on 17 July on Chemnitz Theatre Square and on 18 July in Dresden's Kreuzkirche.

Saturday, 13 July

Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig visits the Saxonia Fountain Festival. The festival is organised by the Saxonia Fountain Association to mark the 120th anniversary of the fountain. Over the past two years, the fountain has been restored on the initiative of investor Claus Kellnberger and the association; with the unveiling of the Saxonia figure announced for 13 July at 2 pm, the fountain is once again complete.
