This year's event organised by the City of Chemnitz and the Chemnitz women's initiatives to mark International Women's Day is being held as a specialist conference under the motto "Against violence against women: Networks, help, prevention".

The 25th Days of Jewish Culture will come to a close with the final concert featuring "Brave Old World". The group has made a name for itself internationally with the interpretation and rediscovery of klezmer and new Jewish music.

The 18th Chemnitz School Theatre Week opens. Until 17 March, 414 children and young people will be presenting 21 plays on the theatre stages. A class from the twin city of Düsseldorf will also be welcomed.
