Monday, 7 January
Invitation to a press event at the city archive: Following the completion of the construction work, city archive director Gabriele Viertel will provide information on the reopening of the facility (PM 4 from 03.01.2013). In the afternoon, 4 pm, a festive event will take place under the motto "Treasure Chest City Archive", to which Mayor Philipp Rochold will welcome the guests in the hall of the building.

The Chemnitz Christmas tree is cleaned early in the morning and then cut down at lunchtime - this marks the end of the Christmas season in Chemnitz after the New Year (6 January) (PM 765 from 17.12.2012).
Time and place: Felling from 1 pm, market at the town hall.

Chemnitz Cup in indoor football with top teams from the East: Chemnitzer FC is the defending champion of the tournament. Guests include second and third division teams, regional league teams and the Czech second division team FC Banik Most.

Premiere of "Kisses.Bites.Penthesilea." - a project by the theatre youth club "KarateMilchTiger" based on Heinrich von Kleist for audiences aged 14 and over. The production team is led by Yves Hinrichs.
